About Hong Kong Breast Cancer Registry
The Hong Kong Breast Cancer Registry (BCR) was established in 2007 by the Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation (HKBCF) and has since become the most comprehensive and representative registry on breast cancer in Hong Kong.
The territory-wide, multi-centre BCR collects data from local breast cancer cases, including risk exposures, disease patterns and treatment trends, clinical outcomes and survival to provide analysis and data that will enable patients, medical professionals and public health policy makers to gauge local breast cancer facts, leading to improved prevention and detection of the disease and treatment and care of the breast cancer patient.
The BCR produces an annual “Hong Kong Breast Cancer Registry Report” in September of each year as well as a BCR Bulletin which is published periodically to provide in-depth analysis on subjects of interest, to supplement the BCR annual report. The BCR is steered by a committee comprised of doctors, legal, management and public health professionals and representatives of breast cancer patients.
The BCR is a member of the International Association of Cancer Registries (IACR).
